The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre’s project for clearing Yemeni lands of mines (Masam) has succeeded in removing 3,166 landmines from various regions of Yemen during the first week of February 2026.
These mines were planted by the Houthi terrorist militias and included five anti-person mines, 1,027 anti-tank and 2,134 items of unexploded ordnance.
According to official statistics, Masam teams removed 200 anti-tank mines and 254 unexploded ordnance in Aden Governorate.
In Hodeidah Governorate, the team removed three anti-tank mines in Hays District and one item of unexploded ordnance in al-Khokha District.
In Mukalla District of Hadramout Governorate, the team removed 619 anti-tank mines and 1,613 items of unexploded ordnance, while in Midi District of Hajjah Governorate, they removed two anti-person mines, 18 anti-tank mines, and 171 items of unexploded ordnance.
In Lahj Governorate, the team removed one item of unexploded ordnance in Tuban District and three anti-tank mines along with 12 items of unexploded ordnance in al-Madaribah District.
In Marib Governorate, the team removed one anti-tank mine in Raghwan District and 181 anti-tank mines in Marib District.
In Shabwa Governorate, one item of unexploded ordnance was removed in Usailan District.
In Taiz Governorate, the team removed two anti-tank mines and six items of unexploded ordnance, in Mocha District, 46 items of unexploded ordnance in Dhubab District, and three anti-person mines along with 29 items of unexploded ordnance in al-Selw District.
The total number of mines removed since the launch of the Masam Project has now risen to 540,671 mines, which were randomly planted across Yemeni territory to claim the lives of innocent civilians—children, women, and the elderly—and to spread fear among peaceful communities.
