ADDEN-SABA
The Ministry of Transport and the General Authority of Civil Aviation and Meteorology (GACAM) in the temporary capital Aden blamed the Houthi terrorist militias for preventing a Yemenia Airlines plane from landing at al-Mokha International Airport in Taiz governorate, describing this action as serious escalation aimed at hindering efforts to revitalize air navigation and facilitate citizens travel.
In a statement issued today, Sunday, learned by the Yemeni News Agency (Saba), the Transport Ministry said" This terrorist act constitutes a blatant violation of international civil aviation laws and regulations, an unjustified restriction on freedom of movement and a direct attack on citizens' right to safe travel."
The Ministry of Transport and the GACAM held the Houthi terrorist militias fully responsible for these practices, stressing that targeting airports and civilian flights primarily harms citizens, undermines humanitarian and service efforts, and increases the suffering of civilians.
The Ministry called on the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and all relevant organizations and bodies to take the necessary legal measures, fulfill their role in protecting the civil aviation sector in Yemen and hold accountable those involved in these serious violations.
It is important to mention that this Houthi terrorist act affected about 300 civilian travelers, including 150 passengers coming from King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah, while another 150 were waiting to travel from al-Mokha International Airport to Jeddah on the same plane.
