His Excellency President Dr. Rashad Mohammed al-Alimi, the Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council, together with Council member Dr. Abdullah al-Alimi Bawazir, chaired part of a government meeting on Sunday at the Ma’ashiq Palace in the presence of Prime Minister Salem Saleh bin Buraik.
The meeting was dedicated to discussing the priorities of the current phase and supporting the government’s efforts to complete comprehensive reforms in the country.
At the outset of the meeting, President al-Alimi extended congratulations to the Yemeni people and the government on the occasion of the glorious Independence Day, wishing that this occasion returns as our people achieve their aspirations for security, stability and peace.
He stated that the challenges of the phase require focusing on three main issues: first, the provision of salaries, services and basic commodity imports; second, security and safety; and third, mobilizing and integrating efforts for the decisive battle, stressing the need to avoid wasting time and effort on secondary matters.
His Excellency affirmed that economic reforms are the main priority today, as they represent the true test of the state and its ability to carry out its constitutional and legal responsibilities.
