The Presidential Leadership Council held a meeting today, Thursday, chaired by Chairman of the Council His Excellency President Dr. Rashad al-Alimi, and attended by the Council members: Sultan al-Arada, Abdulrahman al-Mahrami, Dr. Abdullah al-Alimi, and Faraj al-Bahsani. Tariq Saleh and Othman Mujali participated via video conference, while Council member Aidarus al-Zubaidi was absent with an excuse.

The meeting, which was also attended by Prime Minister Salem Saleh bin Braik, was dedicated to discussing the latest security developments and the status of intelligence agencies involved in combating terrorism, its financing, and organized crime.

During the meeting, the Presidential Leadership Council commended the significant achievements of the armed forces, security forces, and all military formations in combating terrorism and pursuing criminal cells collaborating with the Iran-backed Houthi militia.

The Council affirmed the state's commitment to combating terrorism in all its forms and to working closely with regional and international partners to build the capabilities of the relevant security agencies.

In this context, the Council welcomed the successes achieved by the Combined Task Force led by the Royal Saudi Naval Forces, and the recent international operations that thwarted attempts to smuggle large shipments of drugs and weapons.

This comes within the framework of regional and international efforts to protect the security of the Red Sea and global shipping lanes, and to deter subversive activities linked to Iranian networks and their proxies in the region.
